CONmiR controls are designed to be used as positive or negative controls for validation of gene knockdown experiments. CONmiR controls originate either from published experimental data or have been successfully tested by independent scientists in human, mouse and rat cells (please refer to citations of our customers).
All CONmiR controls include the RNAi-cap for miRNA mimics. The RNAi-cap is located at the opposite position of the seed-region.
The RNAi-cap technology offers several advantages:
- directional modulation of RISC unwinding of miRNA duplex, enhancing loading of the guide strand to the RISC complex. As a consequence, much less miRNA is needed for an effective gene knockdown with a subsequent reduction of off-target effects 
- improved stability of the miRNA duplex with subsequent improved half-life in body fluids.
